Once again this year, Servants of Christ members have faithfully supported our Kenyan Diocese in raising a scholarship fund for needy secondary students in our home diocese. To date, we have collected $5,450 for the 2010 school year. We plan to wire this money to Bishop James Ochiel in early December. Checks should be made out to Servants of Christ with “Kenyan scholarship fund” written in the memo line.
Servants is partnering with Catholic Worker House to supply local homeless and poor residents of our community with warm blankets for winter. If you would like to donate or purchase blankets for the poor, you are invited to bring them with you to church. Also, Catholic Worker House has begun a sock exchange with the homeless of our community to prevent foot infections. These will also be collected at the Service Sunday. Any questions should be directed to Nan Szypulski-Lewis at 246-1101
Spare change? Let that change go towards a great cause! Servants of Christ is holding a fundraiser to help support the Trip 2010 to Asia Minor. The Mite boxes are decorated by the children of Servants and are available for you to take home now. Over the next 6 months please collect your spare change in this box which will be returned by May 1st. Thank you for your support!!!
Many of you may not be aware that Servants has a fund set up to help those who find themselves in some financial hardship. Many of us can relate to a time in life when money was tight either due to illness, job loss, or other financial crisis. Please remember our compassion fund during this busy time of the year!
Please join The Women’s Fellowship every Monday in the triangle room for a great fellowship. We will be reading “Why the Nativity?” by David Jeremiah. This will be a 25 day study so we will gather 5 times to talk about what we will be reading each weekday on our own. The study will begin November 16 and we will discuss the first question on page 1 “Why the Prophesies?” All women are welcome to come! Please note: we will not meet December 21 or 28. Any questions contact Ramona at 378-1906 or Mary at 371-2939.
